4/6/20 Prediction: Peak Week Nationwide

Last nite, John read that this week could be the peak of fatalities with the COVID virus. We are told it will be reminiscent of  the Pearl Harbor experience, although that is being contested by Andrew Coumo, Governor of New York, who states that NYC numbers are beginning to decline.

The ‘powers that be’ were encouraging that only essential trips to the stores be made and that overall, it would be best to remain home.  We elected to ‘make do’ and use up existing supplies.  The truth was that we had plenty of the ‘necessities’… just lacked some of the ‘wants’.  I had hoped to try a homemade paleo grain free granola recipe. But if I don’t have everything, I will wait until next week. I guess I am able to ‘make do’.

It is 8:13 am, the sun is shining brightly out there and I am looking forward to accomplishing a few things in this day.  I am anxious to hear how both of the girls are doing this morning.

From my morning reading from Fenelon, The Seeking Heart:

“ Often what you want to give to God is not what He is asking for.  What He wants from you is what you love most.  He wants the “Isaac” of your heart— the only son, the beloved.  He wants you to yield up to Him all that you hold most dear.  Until you do this you will have no rest.  “Who is he that has resisted the Almighty and been at peace?”  Do you want God to bless you?  Give up everything to Him and He will be with you.  What comfort, what freedom, what strength, what growth when self-love no longer stands between you and God.”

The Lord continues to speak to my spirit … how very consistent His shepherding nudge.
