A personal lesson from 2013
Note to self:
Some of the richest experiences of life — treasured serendipities that warm our hearts and give birth to deep joy—rarely blossom in conveniently scheduled, well-ordered, carefully managed moments of life.
In my life, such experiences most frequently have appeared as interruptions in my schedule, drawing sighs of exasperated overwhelm. Rarely do I greet such intrusions rested and ready to tackle an additional challenge. Most often, I am in a state of compromise, at or near the end of myself, longing for serenity and calm.
Then it happens: a phone call, a baby’s cry, a doctor’s diagnosis, a loved-one’s need.
I could say, “No, I simply could not possibly handle one more thing right now.”
I could, but what might I miss?
It is often in that moment of quandry that my senses awaken to The Gift; a thrust of Spirit power that kicks me into third gear even on my empty tank.
Often, during these unsought life assignments, the angels visit and the blessings flow, gifting with yet another ‘heart-filling-to-overflow’ moment to treasure.
And that, to me, is the life abundant.
